Maya, now called Maddie, is a 1-1/2-year-old “Yorki-poo” who came to HHHA with her brother, Max, after their owners could no longer take care of them. Both Maya and her brother, Max were nervous at the shelter, but Max was adopted almost immediately, leaving Maya by herself at the shelter. Not too long after, a long-time volunteer of the shelter visited to donate items of her beloved dog, HHHA alum, Dayzee, who had suddenly passed away. When the volunteer saw how nervous Maya was, she picked her up and comforted her for awhile. The two bonded and our volunteer knew Maya would be the perfect companion. Maya, now called Maddie, is living her best life sunbathing, going boating, and enjoying TV time. Maddie has come out of her shell and plays, frolics, and snuggles, like any dog her age should! Her family adores her and gush how much joy Maddie has brought to their lives!
